In the Day of His Power
We have seen in the history of the church, time of great power and restoration. Whenever the people of God have accepted a nominal form of religion in place of a vital relationship with Jesus, voice have been raised up to proclaim the day of God’s power.
We live in a day in which the church in being pulled apart by various agendas such as abortion rights, health care issues, poverty, GLBT issues, and various other concerns. All of these have merit and should be of concern for anyone concerned with the value of human life, but none of them should become the primary focus of those of us called to model the Kingdom of God.
Every election cycle, Christians are targeted by political campaigns with promises of taking up these issues only to be forgotten once the election is over. The message of the Kingdom is not a political message but a message of life transformation for all. I repeatedly state that “Jesus did not come to establish a new religion but to begin a movement” which would spread over the world and culminate in the original intention of the Father that “man in God’s image (Genesis 1:26) would exercise dominion over the creation”.
Consistent with God’s historical activity, He is again raising up voices declaring His kingdom, His Grace and His movement. This is not church focused but movement oriented.
